How to specify chain link fencing
A short checklist for wire size, mesh opening, height and coating.
Start with dimensions
State the total fence length and finished height. For mesh-only orders, also confirm the roll height and roll length.
Use a clear wire size
A wire diameter in millimeters helps avoid ambiguity. If a BOQ uses gauge, include the gauge standard or a sample specification.
Confirm the mesh opening
Mesh opening and wire diameter are separate measurements. State both and clarify how the opening is measured in your project specification.
Specify the finish
Our catalogue includes galvanized and PVC-coated chain link options. Confirm the coating requirement, colour where relevant and any project standard.
Include the rest of the fence
Posts, fittings, gates, topping wire and installation change the scope. List these separately so quotations can be compared fairly.
